of Sayre, Pa., passed on at his home on October 24, 2009 with his loving family by his side. Alex was born on December 23, 1925 in New York, NY a son of the late Harry and Tatiana Grubb. He married the love of his life Clara Zolli in 1971. After high school Alex attended Cornell receiving his bachelors and heard the call of his country joining the Navy in 1943 where he served as an Ensign during WWII. Alex loved working with his hands and was a wood worker-cabinet maker. He was a Bio Medical Technician for Arnot Ogden Med Center and retired in 1991. Although his greatest pleasure was found with his grandchildren and being surrounded by his family and many friends.
In addition to his wife Clara Grubb, Alex is survived by his sons: William and Linda and their children Jim and Nick of Sayre; Kenneth and his son Kyle of Sayre; his daughters Amanda and Lisa of New York; several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews also survive. Alex was pre-deceased by a son Curtis Grubb in 1992.
Alex's wishes were for a private memorial service and will be held at the convenience of the family.
