Anna D. Reeve, 96
Anna D. Reeve passed away on May 31st, 2024, at the Towanda memorial skilled nursing facility at the age of 96.
Anna was born April 2nd, 1928, ten minutes ahead of her identical twin sister, Hilda Ruth at home in Wyalusing, PA. She was the daughter of Benton Decker and Marguerite Root Decker.
She graduated in 1946 from Camptown high school and then went on to Moses Taylor hospital School of Nursing to graduate in 1949 as a registered nurse. On June 25th 1949 Anna married Charles C Reeve "Chuck" in a huge double wedding with her twin Hilda marrying Alfred Brown. People lined the streets of Wyalusing to catch a glimpse of the beautiful twin brides arriving at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church. A reception was held at the Wyalusing Rocks Hotel.
Chuck and Anna operated the Reeve family homestead farm in Herrickville for many years. They eventually moved to Towanda where they worked at GTE Sylvania for 30 plus years. Anna became the supervising emergency care and program director head nurse.
Anna and Chuck enjoyed camping with the French choppers camping club, boating and water skiing with their travel camper. After retirement they moved to Kissimmee FL for the next 26 years, they resided in the Good Samaritan Village joining many Towanda friends. Anna worked with her twin Hilda as the village nurse team. Residents loved having their twin nurses visiting them and their little golf carts.
Anna became a skilled crafter, knitting beautiful sweaters for her grandchildren and nieces. She created custom Christmas tree wall portraits from family jewelry she saved through the years. She loved collecting snow babies, Hummels, and antique vases.
The twins traveled all over the country to the international twins convention, usually returning with the 1st place trophies. They loved cruising with friends throughout the world for many years.
Anna is survived by her son "Benny" Charles C. Reeve III. Her granddaughters: Doctor Alison Bronco (Brett) of Bright Waters, New York and Lisa Biddle Steele (Edgar) of Falls Church, VA. She had four great grandchildren Elsa and Claire Branco and Nora and Calvin Steele. Her sister-in-law Marcha Reeve and many nieces and nephews. Her friends were many and will remember her with many fond memories.
She was predeceased by her husband Chuck in 2009 her twin sister Hilda in 2021 and brother-in-law Al in 1987. Her daughter Sheila in 2019 and son-in-law Peter in 2016
Anna will move to Bradford County VA cemetery to be reunited with her family. The burial will be private. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
