Ashley Lyn Cady, born on June 19, 1987, in Elmira, New York, was a beacon of light in the lives of many. A loving daughter, a cherished friend, and an empathetic soul, Ashley's life was a testament to the power of kindness and compassion. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she lived a life filled with purpose, guided by her thoughtful nature. As Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." This quote truly encapsulates the essence of Ashley's life; she touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a legacy of love and benevolence that will forever be remembered and cherished.
Ashley had a very caring heart, especially towards animals. She spent countless hours volunteering at local animal shelters, transforming the lives of numerous creatures with her gentle touch. Her hobbies included watching scary movies and playing board games, pursuits that brought joy and laughter to those around her.
Ashley is survived by her Parents: Charlene and Dennis Vannoy of Sayre, Ray and Collen Cady or Elmira NY. Brothers: Darrel (Sara) Jankins of Chattanooga TN, Josh (Katlin Allen) Cady of Athens, Sister Amanda Gallagher of Sayre, Sister-in-law Alisha Blackman of Sayre. Grandparents: Mary Ann (Bob) Harrison of Troy, PA. Barb Cady of Pine City, NY. Aunt Debbie (Allen) Vorhees. Very special friend and caregiver Nikki Lofton of Geneva NY. Many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ashley was proceeded in death by grandparents: Robert Hartman, Raymond Cady and Sandy Scida. An Aunt Cathy Hartman and Uncle Gary Hartman.
A celebration of Ashley's life will be held on November 22nd at 1:00PM at the Athens Twp Fire Hall.
