Charles R. Smith Jr., 86, of Waverly, NY passed away peacefully on June 14, 2016 at the Elderwood Nursing Facility, Waverly, NY. He was born on June 28, 1929 a son of the late Charles R. Sr. and Saddie (MacPherson) Smith. Charlie was a proud veteran serving his county in WWII in the US Air Force. On July 2, 1954 Charlie married the love of his life Ethel Little Smith in Spencer NY. Together they built a loving home. Charlie was a member of the Valley Color Guard, Waverly VFW and Waverly Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed volunteering and giving back to his community.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents Charles R. Sr. and Saddie (MacPherson) Smith. brothers and sisters: Mildred Bolanda, Gladys Coumfort, Norman Smith, George Smith, Arthur Smith, Richard Smith, and Gerald R. Smith

He is survived by his wife Ethel Little Smith, and Children: Charles (Marlynda) Smith of Van Etten, NY. Debora (Raymond) Estey of Boyd, TX, and Philip (Michelle) Smith of Bighamton, NY. Sisters-in-law: Dolltta Smith, Charlotte Smith, and Virginia Cooke. 5 Grandchildren and numbers nieces, nephews and special friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday June 20th at 3PM at the Sayre Christian church, 427 S. Keystone Ave, Sayre PA with Rev James Donahoo officiating with full military honors. A period of visitation will take place from 2PM until the start of the service. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery Waverly NY at the convenience of the family.
