Obituary

Clyde Vincent Angevine, 91

With a twinkle in his eye and a deck of cards always at the ready, Clyde Vincent Angevine, known affectionately as Benji, Joe Torpel, Clyde Ann Vincent, and Grampa Benji.  Clyde took his final bow on November 18, 2023. Born on January 31, 1932, in Endicott, NY, his 91 years were filled with hearty laughter, compassionate gestures, and an endless love for his family and genealogy.

Clyde was a loving and humble man who devoted 70 years of his life to his beloved wife Janice, whom he married on May 23, 1953. He was a dedicated employee of McFarland Johnson Vestal for 15 years, where he meticulously surveyed every inch of land. Upon retirement, Clyde's card table became the heart of his home in Binghamton, New York. He loved playing pinochle, cribbage, and manipulation, and his vegetable gardens were a testament to his nurturing spirit. But his humor was his hallmark. Whether he was recounting tales of his youth in Vestal, Endwell, or Syracuse,. Clyde made sure that laughter was a part of every story.

Clyde's faith was a significant part of his life, and he found great solace and joy in Bible studies. As Proverbs 17:22 says, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." Clyde embodied this verse, his cheerful heart spreading joy and love to all around him, making the world a little brighter. He is survived by his loving daughters, Pamela Angevine, and Susan Daniels. and is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Alice Angevine, his cherished wife, Janice and son Jeffrey Angevine.

In memory of our dearly departed Clyde, we invite you to share your favorite stories, memories, and photographs on his memorial page. He may have left us, but his spirit lives on in the laughter we share, the card games we play, and the love we hold for one another. As we remember Clyde, may we continue to celebrate his life and the joy he brought to all of us.
