Obituary
57, of Waverly, NY entered a new life at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. August 30, 2010. He was born on July 6, 1953 in Allentown, PA, a son of Richard H. and Ann Louise (Nagle) Maury. Craig attended Waverly High School graduating in 1971. After high school Craig attended SUNY Oneonta, receiving two Bachelors' degrees in 1975. In 1977, Craig married the love of his life Rita (Rhoads) Maury and together they filled their house with laughter and love raising two sons.
Craig was an artist at heart and played numerous musical instruments and was a professional cabinet maker owning and operating Creative Woodworking & Design in Waverly, NY. His designs and talents with creating furniture and cabinetry made him a person to contact by those who appreciated fine furnishings.
Craig was a very kind, gentle and creative man who was admired and loved by many. As a visionary, he worked tirelessly to create nice looking downtown businesses and a green space in Waverly, NY. He was an excellent father figure to many beyond his sons.
Craig H. Maury's name and memory lives on through his wife Rita (Rhoads) Maury at home. Parents: Richard H. and Ann Louise (Nagle) Maury of Allentown, PA. Sons and grandchildren: Mathew and Rosalinda with their children Haley and Caitlyn of Syracuse, NY; Jesse and Danielle Maury of Raleigh, NC. Sister: Vicki and Ron Moyer of Germans Ville, PA. Brothers: Brett and Lydia Maury of Hayward CA.; Kevin and Maresa Maury of Shaker Heights, OH. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends also survive.
Craig is preceded in death by a sister: Wendy Maury.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Craig's life will take place on Saturday September 4th at 4:00PM at the Waverly Green Space, 367 Broad St Waverly, NY, across the street from the Waverly Village Hall.
