Obituary
Daniel Henry Scrivener, Sr. 78 of Elizabeth Square Apts. in Waverly passed away at Elderwood Nursing Facility in Waverly on Friday July 18th following a battle with cancer.
Daniel was born December 1, 1929 in Long Island, NY and was the son of the late Herbert C & Emma E (Sands) Scrivener. Daniel attended schools in Long Island, NY and was employed by Stroehmans in Sayre and retired from Rynone Manufacturing in Waverly.
He was predeceased by a son- Daniel Henry Jr., Brothers-Herbert, Sisters- Emma Carlson
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Rogers) Scrivener with whom he recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. They were married in 1951 at St John Lutheran Church in Sayre, PA. His surviving children: Douglas & Judie, Pine Valley, NY, Donald & Barbara, Great Falls, Montana, David & Merina, Goodyear, Arizona, Dale & Debbie, Waverly, NY, Darlene & Larry Katon, Big Rock, Tennessee. His grandchildren: Alexandrea, Shawn, Amanda, Christina, Derek, Roxanne, Jessica,Veronica, Thomas Daniel, Michael, Malia, Amy, Dale Jr., Larry Jr, Brandon, Nicole, Timothy and has 8 great grandchildren, His brother: Raymond (Grace) Scrivener of Athens, PA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, devoted friends Michael & Donna Schweiger and all his pals at Elizabeth Square Apartments.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation and sharing of memories on Friday July 25th from 10:30 am 12 pm at St John Lutheran Church in Sayre, PA. The funeral service will follow immediately at 12 pm with the Rev. Jira Albers of Trinity Lutheran in Towanda officiating.
Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Waverly at the convenience of the family.
The family is providing their own flowers so respectfully request all memorials to be directed to St. John Lutheran Church 207 S Hopkins St. Sayre, PA 18840 or a charity of your choice in loving memory of Daniel.
