Donald "Eddie" Robinson, Jr.

Donald "Eddie" Robinson, Jr., 67, a life long resident of the Valley passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at his home. He was born on June 3, 1940 in Sayre a son of the late Donald and Marian Robinson. Eddie graduated from Athens High School in 1958. Following graduation he entered into the US Army where he met the love of his life Shirley. Eddie and Shirley were married on July 25, 1964. A caring individual, he was always willing to assist others and enjoyed volunteering at Robert Packer Hospital and the VA Clinic. Eddie enjoyed riding his motorcycle and going on many "poker runs" with his friends. In addition he also was an avid NASAR and sports fan.

Eddie is survived by his son Mike Robinson of San Francisco, Ca; a daughter Kelly Robinson of Athens, Pa; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Joan Robinson; Westfield, NJ; Sisters and brothers-in-law: Lois and Jim Brown of East Athens, Pa; Florence and Dan Glezen of Halstead, Pa; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 1977.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of his life on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 3 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church, 701 West Pine Street, Athens, Pa. Pastor Greg Knupp and Pastor C. Kenneth Crain, will officiate. A period of visitation will be held on Saturday from 2 pm until the time of the service. A private family interment will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery.
