Earl Williams, 69, of Athens passed away on May 16th, 2009 at Robert Packer Hospital. He was born in Sayre and was the son of Samuel and Mary Marcy Williams of Milan. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Leonard (Buzz), Arthur and Albert, and sisters Irene and Edna. He is survived by his sister, Alberta Depew of Oklahoma, sisters-in law, Doris Williams of South Waverly and Margaret Williams of Milan. Earl is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Williams of Levittown, Pa.; son and daughter-in law: Rick and Sue Williams of Ridgebury, Pa.; grandchildren Caylin and Derrick Williams, two stepchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive .
Earl graduated from SRU High School in 1959 and worked for many years at the Athens Ingersoll Rand Foundry. He later worked as a meat-cutter in Colebrook, NH for several years, before returning to live in North Rome and Athens. Earl was also employed at Taylor Packing in Wyalusing. Earl was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a memorial service to be held on Sunday May 31st at 5:00PM at the Sayre Christian Church Keystone Ave, Sayre, with Rev. James Donahoo officiating. The family also asks that friends and family bring a small written memory of Earl that may be shared during the service. There will be a period of visitation 1 hour prior to the service with refreshments and period of sharing to follow the service.
