Genevieve L. Kinney, 97, of Waverly passed away on November 30, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital. She was born in Elmira NY on June 17, 1914 a daughter of the late John H. and Lettie L. (Ayers) Leiser. On September 11, 1938 she married James M. Kinney in the St. James Church, Waverly, NY.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband James M. Kinney on April 25, 1963, her mother and father and her sister Nellie Smith and Brother-in-law Theodore Smith.
Genevieve is survived by her Sons and Daughter-in-law: John Kinney of Waverly and James M. (Colleen) Kinney of Waverly. Granddaughter: Allison (John) Strife of Horseheads, NY. Great granddaughters: Alaina Strife and Julia Strife. Nephews: Kenneth (Dede) Smith, Alan Smith and Grand nephew Jason (Shaina Marron) Smith and family, Grand nieces Corey (Bill) Spain and family, and Morgan Smith and many special friends.
At Genevieve's request, a private graveside service was held at 1:00 pm on December 3rd at the St James Cemetery, Waverly, NY with the Reverend Dale Francis, interim pastor of the Waverly Presbyterian Church officiating. A time of remembering followed the service.
