Obituary

George L. Miller, 87, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday May 23, 2013.
He served in the US Navy from 11/29/43 - 5/18/46 as a ship signalman. He was a tool and die maker working at Fishers tool shop for many years and then retiring from Bendix corporation in 1983. He was born January 30, 1926 in Sayre, PA the son of the late Floyd and Lydia Mary Bush Miller. He married Alva M. Wolcott on Dec 14, 1945.

He was predeceased by a son Thomas A. Miller in 1991. He was also predeceased by brothers Floyd Jr, Charles, David, and Joseph Miller.

He is survived by his wife Alva M. Miller at home. Daughters: Louise Miller and husband Dale Bowers of Waverly, NY., Sue Miller Wood of Waverly, NY., and Georgia Miller Haggerty of Sayre, Pa.. Youngest brother, Louis Miller of Sayre, PA. Sister-in-law: Antoinette Miller Sayre, Pa. Grandchildren: Barbara Wood and Steven Barnes of Waverly NY, Michael and Michelle Bowers of Rhodesdale MD, Crystal Krapf and Jim Seeley of Nichols NY, Leigh Ann Ayers of Waverly NY, Stacey Ayers of Philadelphia Pa, Ryan Haggerty and fiancé Kathy Green of Columbia MD, Kristina and Scott Cipollina of Waverly NY, David J. and Patricia Wood of Elmira NY. Great Grandchildren: Joshua Bowers, Zachary Bowers, Mariska Bowers, Kay Leigh Barnes, James Barnes, Christopher Krapf, Zachary Krapf. Marcus Wood, Katherine Sue Wood, Keenan Wood, Riley Cipollina, Olivia Cipollina. Jacob Kipner, Emily Kipner, Noah Ayres, and Saylor Ayres. Great great grandson Evan Bowers.
George loved World War II history as well as local history. He had his pilot license for many years and in fact was in the process of buying another airplane. Flying was his passion for many years.
