Georgianna Lile Wheelock, 83, of Athens, entered the arms of her Lord on December 3, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, PA, among family members. She was born on October 19, 1927 in Athens, PA, a daughter of George and Lillian (Gerould) Lord. Georgie retired from Ingersoll-Rand in 1989 after 30 years of service. She loved to read and was an avid sports fan, spending many afternoons watching the New York Yankees, college basketball and NASCAR . Family was very important to Georgie and she filled her house with love as a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Georgianna was preceded in death by her parents George Lord and Lillian Gerould Lord. Son: Donald Emmett Baker; sister: Phyllis Carlin; and brothers: Dick Lord and Wesley Lord, and in November by her life-long best friend Barbara Richards of Moravia, NY, a native of Athens.
Georgianna is survived by her brother: Tom Lord of Elmira, NY; sister-in-law: Joyce Lord of Sayre; daughters and son-in-law: Cheryl (Roger) Keithline of Tunkhannock, PA and Linda Wheelock of Port Richey, FL; sons and daughters-in-law: James (Lydia) Wheelock of Hudson, FL, Donald Richard (Beverly) Baker of Athens, Ronald Baker of Athens and Robert Baker of Springfield TN. Special friend and caregiver Marilyn Wood, seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and many other special friends relatives and neighbors.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held for Georgianna on Tuesday, December 7th at 6:30PM at the Sayre Christian Church with Rev. James Donahoo officiating. There will be a period of visitation from 5:30 until the start of the service. Burial will take place next to her mother Lillian Lord in the Tioga Point Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
