Harold L Learn, 87, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Ashton Health Care, Athens. Cobby was born on October 13, 1924 a son of the late Dodd and Mary Learn in Sheshequin PA. He faithfully served in the U.S. Army during WWII 1943-1946 earning 2 Bronze Stars for Valor. After the military, Cobby married the love of his life, Alice Learn on September 11, 1947. Together they filled their home with love and happiness. Cobby was a member of the VFW Skiff Bower Post in Sayre and Athens American Legion. He worked for Ingersoll Rand and Conrail.

Harold was preceded in death by her parents: Dodd and Mary Learn, wife: Alice Learn in 2010, Brothers: Carl Learn, Phillip Learn, Robert Learn, James Learn. Sisters: Muriel (Learn) Krotzer and Eleanor (Learn) Marrone.

Harold is survived by his Children: Donald & Carolyn (Yale) Learn of East Smithfield PA, Lyle & Kathy (Shores) Learn of Albany, GA, Linda (Learn) & Merle Yale of Centerville, PA, Richard Learn of Athens, PA, Randy & Sherry (Bowman) Learn of Waverly, NY, Debbra (Learn) & Chuck Slater of Waverly, NY. Sisters: Esther (Learn) VanDerlyke Dayton of Towanda PA, Doris (Learn) Nichols of Athens, Phyllis (Learn) McChesney of Horseheads NY, and Hazel (Learn) Bradley of Sayre PA. 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, Faithful Dog – Sassy, numerous nieces & nephews.

Graveside Military Honors will be held on September 8, 2012 at 1PM in the Sheshequin Cemetery followed a celebration of his life at the Sayre VFW. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718
