IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James L
Stewart
March 30, 1946 – May 14, 2023
James ("Jim") L. Stewart, passed away on May 14, 2023. Born on March 30, 1946, in Elmira, NY, Jim lived a rich and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of many along the way.
Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of staff sergeant before being honorably discharge in 1969. During his enlistment he received a Medal of Excellence in Marksmanship and the Bronze Star.
Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman spending much of his free time in nature. Following his retirement from Corning Incorporated, where he was an electrician, he gained his captain's license and began Short Hook Charters. Jim's love for nature was matched only by his love for his family.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia (Fuller) Stewart, his son Jim (Jessica) Stewart, grandchildren Kirsten and Sean Franzese, brothers Edgar (Linda) and Duane (Melody) Stewart, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Betty Stewart, who instilled in him the values and principles that shaped the person he became. Jim will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
We invite you to leave your cherished memories of Jim and upload photos to his memorial page, celebrating the unique and wonderful life he led. Following Jim's wishes, there will be no services.
