Obituary

passed away at her home on December 28th, 2009 following a brief illness. Jane was born on October 30th, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Louis and Elizabeth (Gordon) Sayre. She and her husband Donald were married on June 18th, 1955 in Bellevue, PA. After high school Jane received her Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College and her Master of Letters in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh. Jane volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and served on the Seven Lakes Girl Scout Council Board of Directors for many years. She was also a long-time volunteer for the United Way and the Robert Packer Hospital. Jane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sayre where she served as a deacon. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling, although her greatest pleasure was found in being surrounded by her family and friends.
In addition to her husband Donald Weaver, Jane is survived by her children: Cynthia Weaver of Ithaca, NY; Valerie (Jerome) Carocci of Burdett, NY; Amy Dinkelacker of Fogelsville, PA; Mark (BJ) Weaver of State College, PA; Matthew (Lena) Weaver of Sayre, PA.; and her seven grandchildren: Andrew (Heather), Laura, and Brian Dinkelacker; Jared and Jacob Carocci; and Nate and Olivia Weaver.
A memorial service and celebration of Jane's life will be held on January 7th at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church of Sayre with the Rev. Dr. James R. Henery officiating.
