Jeanie Marie Mix, 79, of North Hopkins Street, Sayre, Pa passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord , Tuesday evening, September 23, 2008 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family. She was born on February 2, 1929 in Allentown, NY daughter of the late Gene and Alvira B. (Lanphere) Mix.
Jeanie was a member of the Church of the Redeemer in Sayre. She enjoyed a good Yankee's baseball game, listening to country music, reading about the Civil War and especially treasured the time spent with her family and church..

Jeanie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Roxanne and Donald Curtis of Sayre, PA son Gary Freer of Eldred, PA ; grandchildren: Cindy Cooney, Scott Freer and Nicole, Jason and Jennifer Freer, Jennifer Swingle and Robert, Laura and Donnie Curtis Bohrer; Sarah and Chad Snowburg; great grandchildren: Shayna, Owen, Jasmine, Taylor, Brooke, Anthony, Patrick, Lindsey, Lily, Robbie, Josiah, Jordan, Ariana, and Nicholas Gene; Sister: Mickey & Doc Vercruysse. Special friends: Cindi and Stephen Webster; Ron, Francis, and Paul Terry. A very special thanks to Rita Jo Swingle ,also. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by brothers and sisters: Leighton "Bill" Mix, Lyma Auman, Weldon "Pete" Mix, Jessie Sheldon, Ned Mix, Percy "Tom" Mix, Joyce Prentice, Helen North, and Helena North,

A Grave side celebration of the special person Jeanie was will be held on October 12th at the Bells Run Cemetery, Shinglehouse, PA. at 1:00 pm with Pastor Bob Auchey officiating.
