John E. "Jeff" Green, 76

John E. Green, 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 27, 2011 with his wife by his side. Jeff was born on June 16, 1935 a son of the late Morgan F. and Frances (Greer) Green. He was a graduate of Sayre High School class of 1955. Jeff always kept his Redskin's spirit as past president and long-time coach of Sayre Small Fry football. Past member of Sayre Redskin Booster club and inducted into the Sayre Redskin Hall of Fame. On August 31, 1957 Jeff married the love of his life Marian (Carroll) Green and together they raise their family with love and compassion.
Jeff was a member of Elks Lodge #1148 serving as past member of Board of Directors of Elks. He was a past member and president of the IR Men's Service Club and past member of Sayre Area School Board.
Anyone that knew Jeff, knew he was an AVID (and we mean AVID) Penn State Football Fan.

Jeff was predeceased by his Parents: Morgan and Frances (Greer) Green. Son: Kevin Green. Brothers: Morgan (Bud) Green, Donald Green, William Green. Sister: Betty Early. Brothers in law: Raymond Carroll, Alvin Lord, Charles Brown, Charles Stevens. Sisters in law: Betty Brown, Marie Mason, Doris Green, Sandra Carroll. Father and Mother in law: Robert & Katherine Carroll

Jeff is survived by his wife Marian (Carroll) Green at home. Daughter: Shari Green, Sayre. Son: Richard (Nancy) Green of Covington, GA. Grandson: Alex Green of Sayre. Granddaughter: Morgan Green of Covington, GA. Brothers:
Larry Green, Dover, PA and Burt (Joan) Green, Bayonet Point, FL. Sisters:
Norma (Thomas) Lynch, Sayre and Phyllis Stevens, Sayre. Brothers in law:
James (Ann) Carroll, Sayre, Vincent Early, Owego, NY and William Carroll, Sedona, AZ. Sisters in law: Ann Lord, Brunswick, GA, Rita (Joseph) Scheid, Phoenix, AZ, Patricia Carroll, Byron, GA, Patricia Green, Polk City, FL, Mary Jane Green, Sayre and Mary Alice Green, Sayre.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on October 31, 2011 at 9:30AM at the Epiphany Roman Catholic Church 304 South Elmer Ave. Sayre, PA with rite of committal to follow in the Tioga Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made, in loving memory of Jeff, to Guthrie Hospice, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA. 18840.
