John C. Platt Sr., 71, of Candor, NY. passed away on February 8, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. John loved to play cards and spend time with his dog, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. John worked hard all his life logging and farming.

John was preceded in death by father: Frank Platt, mother: Virginia (Franklin) Platt, brothers: Robert Platt and Theodore Platt.

John is survived by his wife of 47 years Frieda (Wagner) Platt at home. Sons and daughters: Roger Platt of Sayre, PA., Stacy (Tony) Jefferies of Des Moines, IA., Terry Hatch of Candor, NY., and John Jr. (Melissa) Platt of Candor, NY.. Sister: Sharon Rhine of Anthony,MX., Brother-in laws, Sister-in-laws, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and best friend "Baby Doll".
