74, Husband of Margaret (Simons) Spencer of 1st Street Athens, passed away Wednesday morning, June 16, 2010 at the Ashton Heath Center, Athens, PA, following a period of declining health. Jack was born in Standing Stone, PA on January 17, 1936. He married his wife Margaret, on July 6, 1963 in Waverly, NY. As a laborer Jack worked for Ingersoll Rand for 43 years until his retirement, February of 2000. Jack spent his spare time fishing and landscaping. He enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie (Dull) Spencer, his father William Spencer, brothers, Ray Spencer, William Spencer Jr. and a sister Carol (Spencer) Daniels.
Jack is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Carrie Spencer of Apalachin, NY, grandson John Spencer, II, of Sayre, PA.
Also surviving are brothers, Fay Spencer of Waverly, NY; Donnie Spencer, a sister and brother-in-law Louis (Spencer) and Earnest Hand of Fort Myers, FL.
Jack will be laid to rest in the Tioga Point Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial services for Jack will be held on Friday June 18, 2010 at 6:00PM at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 135 Chemung St Waverly, NY 14892 with Pastor Larry Day officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in loving memory of Jack.
