Obituary
Josephine V. Petrolati of Wellsboro PA, formerly of Sayre PA, went home to the Lord on Thursday, February 9, 2012.
"Jo" was born on April 6, 1919 in Lansdale PA, the daughter of the late Rosario Leotta and Orazia Patti Leotta. She married Alexander G Petrolati on May 16, 1937 and spent most of her life in the Norristown, Conshohocken and Warminster PA areas.
Jo was an outgoing individual and was well liked by everyone she met. She made many friends at both the Ashton Healthcare in Athens PA and The Green Home in Wellsboro PA and praised the care and compassion she received at both facilities.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Alexander G. Petrolati on May 6, 1996, her brothers and their wives; Harry and Virginia Leotta, Dominic and Amelia Leotta, an infant brother Peter Paul Leotta, sister Dorothy and her husband Joseph Mattero, sister Christine Leotta and great-granddaugher Lindsey Ann Spikes.
She is survived by her sons; Thomas Petrolati (and friend Thelma Senese) of Sayre, PA, Alex (Barbara) Petrolati of King of Prussia, PA and daughters Barbara Ann Guarino of Sayre, PA and Carol (Richard) Bailey of Sayre, PA.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lisa Marie Spikes, Sayre PA, Sal Guarino, Sidney NY, Robert Bailey (fiance' Jennifer and son Marcus Phillips) Livonia MI, Michael Guarino, Sayre PA, Alex J Petrolati (Jessica), Pennsburg PA, Christine Petrolati, Pennsburg PA, James (Sian) Bailey, Cataumet MA, Rudy (Shelley) Wilhelm, East Norriton PA and Rachel Wilhelm, East Norriton PA.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Alessandra Guarino,Terre Haute IN, Tyler, Taylor and Trevor Stephen, Pennsburg PA, Bruce, Luke and Alexander Bailey, Cataumet MA, Nevaeh and Rudy Wilhelm, East Norriton, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Epiphany, Sayre PA on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Vincent Langan officiating. Visiting hours will be held at the Church one hour prior to the service, from 9am to 10 am. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Matthew's Cemetery in Conshohocken PA with Father Gaspar A.Genuardi officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Epiphany School, 627 Stevenson Street, Sayre PA in Josephine's memory. Memories may be shared by visiting www.tiogapointcremation.com. Caring services are being provided by Cooley Tioga Point Cremation & Burial Options, Athens, PA.
