Juanita Jane Benson, 64, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away on December 22, 2025, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Born on June 13, 1961 in Sayre,PA the daughter of the late U. Grant & Martha (Smith) Wilcox Juanita's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a genuine dedication to caring for others.
Juanita was a member of the Emery Chapel loved Jesus, a Born again Believer and Loved her entire Church Family. In her earlier years she worked at the Paper Magic Plant in Troy PA and For 26 years, Juanita served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Robert Packer Hospital, where her compassionate nature and outgoing personality made a lasting impact on both her colleagues and the many patients she cared for. Her commitment to helping others was not only a profession but also a reflection of her heart's desire to make a difference in the world. Outside of her career, Juanita was known for her lively spirit and her love of visiting with family and friends. She truly relished these moments, creating memories that would last a lifetime. A passionate animal lover, she found joy and companionship in her beloved pets, her cat Heidi and her dog Princess, who were part of her family. Juanita had a zest for life that shone through her hobbies and interests. She loved to camp and enjoyed the lively atmosphere of square dancing. Her enthusiasm extended to her favorite television shows, where she was a devoted fan, never missing an episode of "Wheel of Fortune," "Jeopardy,Family Feud, Walton’s and Little House on the Prairie. She loved to tell Jokes These passions brought joy not only to her own life but also to those around her.
Juanita is survived by her loving son, Justin (Susan) Talcott-Benson, along with her adoring grandchildren Jase, Jeremiah, Shanelle, Scarlett, and Derrick. She is also remembered by her brother Walter (Ylonda) Wilcox, her sister Marsha (Lewis) Wells, and her extended family of nieces, nephews Duane Wells, Stacy (Michael)Sherr Diana (Matthew) Eserhut, Shawn (Heather) Wells Leslie (Michael) Roche, Benjamin (Kimberly) Wilcox, Jacob (Amanda) Wilcox, Kevin Benson, Alan (Linda) Benson, Greg Williams as well as many cousins, and special friends who were touched by her vibrant presence.
Juanita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald H. Benson, her brother Lester Wilcox, brother-in-law,Eugene Benson, sister-in-law, Mary Williams, Brother-in-law Raymond Benson
Juanita Jane Benson will be deeply missed, not only for her warm heart and outgoing nature but also for the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service and celebration of Juanita's life will be held on January 17 2026 at 11Am at the Federated Church,Church & Main Streets, East Smithfield, PA 18817 with Pastor Tracy Tim presiding along with Jeff Bisher. a period of visitation will be held from 10-11Am prior to the service then a meal and period of fellowship immediately after the service in the church hall.
