Marjorie Jean (Hotalen) Gesford 52, of Athens Township PA died Thursday October 18, 2012 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Waverly, NY January 3, 1960 to Herman and Olga (Palipkonich) Hotalen. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, listening to music and spending time with her family. She was employed as a Crossing Guard with the Athens Area School District until January 2012.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Walter F. Gesford Sr. , Her parents and her brother John Hotalen
She is survived by her daughters: Lauretta Gesford of Sayre, PA. and Sharron (Hotalen) Stillman and fiancée, Scott Bennett of Waverly, NY. Son: Walter F. Gesford Jr. and daughter in law Hillary (Clark) Gesford of Stafford, VA. Grandchildren : Brendyn and Courtney Stillman of Waverly, NY. Special friend and fiancée Patrick Cahill of Sayre, PA. Marjorie is also survived by her sisters: Linda Belles of Athens, PA, Cheryl (Tim) Frock of Waverly, NY, Marlene (Allen) Brown of Sayre, PA. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 3:30PM at the Athens Township Fire Hall. A private burial will be arranged at a later date determined by the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
