Obituary

Marjory Wilkins Hicks, age 95, born in Union, New York, peacefully passed away on May 12th, 2026, at Towanda Guthrie Personal Care Home.

Marge was born on August 31st, 1930, to parents H. Morrell Wilkins and Ida Dingman Wilkins. After graduating from LeRaysville High School, Marjory married Forrest R. Hicks on her 21st birthday, in a shared ceremony with their long time friends, Bob and Iola Cragle. Together, Marge and Tek had 3 children; Bradley Hicks, Cathy Wilson and Terry Hicks. As a family, the Hicks loved to spend summers at Haigh’s Pond with life long neighbors and friends for endless fun.

Marge worked as an EMT for HOPS Ambulance, secretary and nurses aide for North East Bradford Elementary School, nurses aide at Towanda Hospital and in the business office at Towanda Memorial Hospital. Marge was always known for her signature style that always included the perfect perm, freshly ironed pants, a set of jewelry and lipstick to match.

Throughout her life and into her retirement, Marge enjoyed line dancing, playing cards, visiting friends and spending time with her numerous grandchildren. She was known for her sense of humor and attention to detail. Marge could most often be found laughing during a game of rummy, reading a good book, or putting rollers in her hair.

Marge was predeceased by her son Bradley on March 1st, 2015, and her grandson James Preston Moore on November 18th, 2018.

Marge is survived by her brother and sister in law, Barry and Janice Wilkins, her daughter and son in law, Cathy and Roger Wilson, her son and daughter in law, Terry and MaryAnn Hicks, her grandchildren Jacob, Jordan, Jenna and Julie Hannah, and her many great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Towanda Guthrie Personal Care home for making her final years an enjoyable experience. The family would also like to thank the Guthrie Hospice team for keeping Marge comfortable. Even in her late years, Marge was dressed well, causing mischief, enjoying a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Marge found a cherished friendship with her roommate Betty Carr, with whom she shared many pleasant years with at the Personal Care Home.

In honor of her wishes, no service will be held for Marjory. Any later celebration of life or other plans will be at the discretion of the family.
