Norman Frederick
Royce
Dec 26, 1966 — Jun 28, 2026
Norman Frederick Royce, whose light began to shine on December 26, 1966, in St Albans, Vermont, passed away peacefully at his home in Waverly, New York, on June 28, 2026. The echo of his laughter, his warm embrace, and the steadfast love he gave to those closest to him reverberate through each memory left behind—testaments to a life lived with profound care, unwavering devotion, and dignified grace.
From the start, Norman was a soul marked by deep empathy and quick wit—a beloved son to Joann Daigneault and Wayne Royce. His childhood in Vermont was shaped by the essence of family bonds, laughter around the table, and the kind of love that lays the foundation for a life rich in friendship and kindness. These same traits would carry Norman forward, guiding every path he would walk.
Norman’s heart found its steadfast companion in Lori Royce, the great love of his life. Together they built their own tapestry of joy, weathering storms and celebrating sunshine—hand in hand, side by side. Norman’s focus on family never wavered; to his children, Dylan (Tiffany) Randall of Athens PA and Erica (Josh Barry) Likins of Waverly NY, he was not only a father, but a constant source of quiet strength and gentle guidance. In Grandpa Norman, Wyatt Randall, Parker Yale, and Dawson Yale found not only an elder, but a playful spirit—someone to conjure adventures with and someone who always had their best interests close at heart.
Norman’s friendships were enduring and true, notably with Doel Rayes, whose camaraderie was a cherished presence throughout his journey. Family, both born and chosen, was the axis upon which Norman’s world spun.
The journey of Norman’s life was not without loss. He is now reunited with his dearly missed brother, Steven Royce. Though the ache of this absence remained, Norman carried Steven’s memory forward in thought, in story, and in the silent reassurance that love never truly leaves us.
As a man, Norman was defined by his authenticity. Whether gathering with family, sharing a quiet conversation or offering sage advice, he had a way of making those around him feel known, valued, and loved. The halls of his home were filled with laughter and understanding, a sanctuary for family and friends alike.
Norman’s passage is felt keenly by those whose lives intertwined with his. Survivors include his beloved wife, Lori Royce; his son, Dylan Randall; his daughter, Erica Likins; his grandsons, Wyatt Randall, Parker Yale, and Dawson Yale; his mother, Joann Daigneault; his father, Wayne Royce; and his treasured friend, Doel Rayes.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the mark Norman leaves is indelible—a legacy of love, resilience, and gentleness that will ripple onward through the generations. In silent moments and in stories told, Norman lives on in the hearts and memories of those he touched.
May his journey onward be as peaceful as the life he gifted to those around him.
