Ralph Lantz, 81, of Litchfield PA passed away peacefully at home on Thursday January 10, 2013. He was born on November 12, 1931 to Luther and Katherine (Golden) Lantz of Greenslanding PA.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Richard and Paul, and sister Lois Ludwig.
Ralph worked at the Ingersoll Rand for 40 years starting out as a laborer and retiring as a supervisor in 1983.
He loved spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed working in the yard, running outdoor equipment, riding four wheelers and camping. He loved playing and beating the boys in the family in a good game of pool. Ralph enjoyed taking his family on lots of rides in the car and walking in the creek looking for fossils with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed working in the stone quarry and using those stones on and around the house and yard. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family members working on their houses or vehicles. In his younger years he liked to hunt and in later years enjoyed reading and watching westerns.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
Ralph is survived by his wife Marjorie of 63 years and children Brian (Karen) Lantz of Farmington, NY, Patricia (Gwyn) Kelsall of Apalachin, NY, Nancy (John) Sargent of Camden West Virginia, Maureen (James) DeFrahn of Waverly, NY, Russell (Marlene) Lantz of Litchfield, PA, Julie (James) Rodgers of Athens PA , Christine (Joseph) Woodcock of Lockwood NY and Kevin (Jessica) Lantz of Waverly NY; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers John Lantz, Larry (Karen) Lantz and William (Madge) Lantz and sisters Doris (Morris) LaDue, Juanita Teeter, Phyllis Potter and Carol (Bill) Powless.
A memorial service will be held Monday January 14, 2013 at 1pm at the Litchfield United Methodist Church in Litchfield PA. This is not to mourn his passing but to celebrate his life so come with good stories and share some memories and time with family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Guthrie Clinic attn: Nancy Patient Assistance Fund (an assistance program for cancer patients and their families).
