Obituary
Randy Learn (Hoggy) from Waverly, NY passed away on March 19, 2022, to join his wife and son.
Randy was 66 years old, born on September 21, 1955 to his father Harold (Cobby) and Mother Alice Learn.
He graduated in 1973 from Athens High School, He met his wife Sherry, and married in 1974.
Randy worked many years at DuPont, and later retired.
Everyone knew his love of NASCAR, and he was an avid Richard Petty fan.
Randy also followed the NFL, and the Detroit Lions.
He enjoyed going to car shows, and restored and owned several classic cars.
Randy could be found at the VFW with his friends, in which he was a member, and the Athens American Legion.
We all loved his sense of humor, and you would be sure to smile if you were with him.
Randy and Sherry lost their only child Neil in 2000 to Muscular Dystrophy.
Followed by his mom in 2010, and his dad in 2012. It was a painful loss when his wife Sherry passed away in 2018. His sister Linda Yale joined them all on Oct. 2, 2021.
Randy is survived by 3 brothers.
Don and Carolyn Learn of East Smithfield, PA.
Lyle and Kathy Learn of Albany, GA.
Rick Learn of Athens, PA.
And a sister Debbie Slater of Waverly. NY.
He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Randy had many friends, and made new friends where ever he went.
He will be sadly missed by so many people.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
