80, of South Waverly entered into the peace of his Lord on Wednesday May12th 2010, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He was born November 14th, 1929 a son of Harry and Ida (Duhlstine) Welch. Dick as he was known to his family and friends was a graduate of Sayre High School class of 1947. After graduation Dick served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by Ingersoll Rand as an electrician until his retirement in 1991. On April 15, 1983 Dick married Gay (Woods) Welch. Dick had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and bowling or golfing with his many friends.
Dick was pre-deceased by his parents, Harry and Ida Welch, daughter Deborah (Steele) and grandchildren Michael (Deborah), Lisa and Kevin (Richard).
Dick is survived by Sons and Daughters-in-law: Richard (Kathy) Welch of Spartanburg, SC; John (Ann) Welch of Apalachin NY. Daughter and Son-in-law: Joan (Vincent) Paolozzi of Schenectady NY. Stepchildren: William Hughes of Madison WI and Dawn (Bill) Lutz of Elmira, NY. Brother and Sister-in-law Joseph and (Jaqueline) Welch of Powhatan, VA. 9 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and very special friends also survive.
According to Dick's wishes there will be no service with burial to take place at the convenience of the family at a later date.
