of Sayre, PA. passed away on July 1st 2010 at home with his family by his side. Rodney was born in Sayre on January 15th 1931, a son of Charles and Emma (Olinick) Garrison. Rodney graduated from Sayre High School, served his country in the US Army. On January 18th 1969 he Married Cynthia Redder. Rodney was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid Syracuse Orange fan and loved to watch NASCAR on Sunday afternoon. Rodney also loved to camp, working and spending summers at the River Forest Park campground in Weedsport NY. Rodney was the Supervisor for the Sayre US Post Office retiring in 1986. He was also a member of the Howard Elmer Hose Company and Sayre Fire Police.
Rodney is preceded in death by his father and mother, two sons: Charles V. Garrison and Gerald Garrison and a grand daughter: Shelia Quatrini Catlin.
Rodney is survived by his wife Cynthia Garrison at home. Daughters and Sons-in-law: Jennie (Martin) Bakos of Wilmington, DE., Amy (Karl) Stephenson of Wilmington, DE. Sons and Daughters-in-law: Rodney L. Garrison Jr. of Wilmington, DE., Robert (Krystle) Garrison of Sayre, Joseph (Fiancée: Sarah Bernard) Garrison of Owego, NY. Grandchildren: Jeff Wargo, Amy Ellsworth, Lindsey Stephenson, Taylor Stephenson, Mike Garrison, Kimberly Hine, Adam Garrison, Chad Garrison, Sierra Garrison and Erica Garrison. Several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other special friends relatives and neighbors also survive.
A graveside memorial service will be held for Rodney on Thursday, July 8th at 12:00PM at the Tioga Point Cemetery with Rev. James Donahoo officiating.
Flowers will be provided by the family however, those who wish to may make a donation to Guthrie Hospice, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, Pa. 18840, in loving memory of Rodney.
