Sarah Jane Hyde Marrone, better known as Salley, died on February 10th, 2024, at the Sayre Health Care Center surrounded by her family. She was born on September 11, 1929 to Paul F. and Violet Klinko Hyde in Sayre, PA.
She attended Athens Schools and later graduated from Pauldine's Beauty School. Besides being a stay-at-home mom, she owned and operated Salley's Hair Fashions.
On January 1, 1949, she married Jack E. Marrone. Together they celebrated 75 years together and raised three children, Victoria (Wayne) Dallas of Doylestown, Vincent, and Victor (Lisa) of Sayre. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Melissia (Trevor) Ayr, Jason (Andrea), Matthew (Lindsay), and Alicia (Devon) Coyle, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was a member of the Epiphany Church in Sayre. Other organizations she had participated in were the Church of the Redeemer Junior and Senior Choir, Katherine Allen's A Cappella Choir, and the Voice of Tomorrow Contest of Philadelphia. For many years she was a Brownie, Girl Scout, and Cub Scout leader. She was a former member of the Sons of Italy..
She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Violet Kathryn Hyde, Marjorie (Loyd) Price, Lucretia (Rodney) Gibbons, and Barbara (Quido) Ciardi, and an infant brother, Paul Edward Hyde.
Although she never had any brothers, she felt very fortunate to have had four wonderful brother-in-laws, who were very special to her, Adelcki Marrone, deceased, Eugene Marrone, August Titi and Joseph Titi.
A private mass will be held at the Church of the Epiphany at the family's convenience. Final resting place will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens.
Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Epiphany Catholic School, 627 Stevenson Street Sayre, PA 18840 in Sayre.
