Obituary

In a world where people often take life too seriously, Steven D. Lawrence danced to a different tune. Born on June 30, 1953, in Scottsbluff, NE, Steve, as most knew him, was the kind of man who made every room he walked into a little brighter, a little louder, and a lot more fun.

Steven D. Lawrence, 70, of Waverly, NY. Passed away suddenly on January 9th at the Robert Packer Hospital.  Steve graduated from Waverly High School in 71 and was a dedicated machinist working at Kennedy Valve for 21 years retiring in 2019, but his true passion was being the charismatic life of the party.  Always generous with his laughter and his time, he was a dedicated family man and friend to many. Despite his jovial demeanor, Steve was also the embodiment of hard work and dedication. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. "He lived life one party at a time."

Steve leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa Lake, mother Etta Lawrence, his children Staci Lawrence-Rockhill and Anthony Lawrence, and his step-son Tom Lake. Nephew/Son Zack Lawrence, Grandchildren Indigo, Lillyanna Ann, Everleigh Marie, Special Aunt he shared a birthday with (Connie), Sister Marlene Taylor, personal family friends Ashley Chandler (Mastrantonio), Corey Moshier, very close friends Jackson and Karen Robbins, and many other very close friends, nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his baby sister Gloria Malanoski, and his son-in-law, Clint Rockhill. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him, but as the saying goes, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Steve would want us all to remember the good times, the laughter, and the joy that he brought to every gathering.

At Steve's request there will be no services. A celebration of life is planned in the Summer.
