A Memorial Service for Thaddeus Dean Otten, son of Morris D. and Alice
Talada Otten, who passed away on Aug. 25, 2010 will be held at their
home, 227 Marshview Road, (Spring Lake) Wyalusing, Pa. at 5 p.m.
Thad was born on July 4, 1970 at the Towanda Memorial Hospital. He
graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School in 1988 where he enjoyed
participating in the school musicals. As well as being active in his
Church Choir and Youth Group.
He was honorably discharged in 1992 from the U.S. Navy, where he was
stationed in Norfolk, VA. He entered Penn State at the Lehman Campus
immediately upon his discharge from the Navy and graduated from Penn
State in State College with a Liberal Arts Degree in Psychology as
well as a minor in German.
He worked in the construction and landscaping field while in college,
later in retail and was a member of the Iron Workers Union. He also
worked in youth and children's services. He was working toward a
master's degree in Family Counseling before his untimely death.
He was an avid and accomplished racquet ball player, a voracious
reader, enjoyed fishing, all kinds of music and movies and loved
spoiling his cat "Rascal."
He is survived by his parents at home, his sister Maria Ruth of State
College, Pa. as we as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by grandparents, Leon and Pearl Sick Otten of
Wyalusing and Theodore and Rosina Barrowcliff Talada of Sayre.
Anyone who would like to join in this celebration of Thad's life and
the consecration of his ashes, or share thoughts, memories or just
some of the stories of the pranks Thad so loved to participate in, is
welcome.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the
Wyalusing Methodist Church on Church St. in Wyalusing, Pa. at 5 p.m.
