Larry Forkey, 81

Larry Forkey, 81 of Brackney, PA passed away January 5th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Joan, son Todd, brothers in law Dave Allen, Ric and Dan McPike and daughter in law Dottie Swanson.

Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Becky, his brothers Alan, Jim (Sandy) and Bryan (Betsy), his son Brent (Melissa) daughter Cindy (Chris) Clark, son Andy Swanson, grandsons Brian (Logan) and Tyler, granddaughters Kate Clark,  Karlie Forkey,  Mackenzie (Brandon) Kage and several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister in law Sally McPike, Collene McPike and brother in law Greg (Melissa) McPike and his childhood best friend Butch Cass.

Larry grew up in Hillcrest and attended Chenango Valley High School. He worked at NYSEG for 36 years and retired as a Supervisor January 2000. Larry and Becky spent many winters in Cape Coral, Fl with their NYSEG friends.  Larry was an avid bowler, loved the Yankees and Syracuse basketball. He was well known for his cooking expertise and his welcoming personality and smile. He was quick to speak his mind but always in a kind and thoughtful way.
